Identify When You’re Being Emotionally Bullied

Bullying is deliberately hurtful behaviour which is repeated over a period of time. Its difficult for those being bullied to stop the process. Emotional bullying can be challenging to identify due to it’s insidious nature. You may be under the influence of an emotional bully if you begin to feel, for no clear reason:

  • Confused.
  • Indecisive.
  • Panicky and anxious for no ‘real’ reason.
  • Nervous and ‘treading on eggshells’ around certain people.
  • Frustrated that things don’t always add up or make sense around certain people.
  • Doubting yourself more than usual.
  • Memory loss.
  • Guilty – for no real reason – particularly around certain people.
  • Fearful of certain people.
  • Very angry – exploding out of the blue.
  • Tearful – in certain situations or around certain people.
  • Fatigued – often contracting C.F.S – chronic fatigue syndrome.
  • Developing addictions of any sort.
  • Begin taking over the counter drugs for depression and/or anxiety and insomnia.
  • Loss of confidence.
  • Worthless. Feeling like you are ‘wrong.’
  • Stupid.
  • Suicidal.
  • Lethargic.
  • Irritable.
  • Abnormal mood swings.
  • Irrational.
  • Physically ill.
  • A need to hide away from or escape from the world.
  • Cannot face reality.
  • Loss of humour.
  • Drained…physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually
