Global Community Engagement Day
The world is made up of a multitude of individuals but what happens when you put them all together? Don’t they come together as a group known as a community? And a whole lot of communities can create global communities which bring together local ingenuity, insights, and ideas to save lives, educate, advance equity and secure strong sustainable futures. They are virtual, physical, business, political, religious, special interests and are connected through telecommunications networks.
Global communities help organizations amplify their voices, their efforts, and their influence by developing relationships and collaboration with whoever can support them. Global communities encourage organizations, individuals and businesses to engage on a profound level with their community. The engagement brings about learning that integrates meaningful engagement and deliberate learning for people that occurs through reflection and reciprocity between communities. It provides opportunity for community members to contribute to public decision-making processes and informing and educating communities on policy and procedure issues that impact their daily lives.
Community engagement helps build relationships with local residents, virtually or otherwise, and help leaders make better choices about volunteer work, activism, community gardening, tutoring, environmentalism or blood donation.
It is all about connection, something which our globe sadly lacks currently.
