• “I believe that nothing in life is coincidental and the circumstances that led me to Barbara proved this to be so. I approached Barbara by email after reading her biography on the Body and Mind website early in 2002.  I had relocated from South Africa with my husband and three children to Kenya in December 2001.  By the time Barbara and I managed to co-ordinate one of her working trips to Johannesburg with mine from Nairobi – I was in crisis. Everything I had placed importance on and attained affirmation from was left behind in South Africa, or so I thought.  I had recently turned 40, a time of dramatic change, self-analysis and reflection in any event, without the added stress of an international relocation.  In addition my then fifteen year old daughter was depressed and my husband was working 24/7 to establish himself in his very demanding position as an ex pat CFO. The two hours with Barbara during our first appointment triggered a transformation process within me that changed my life.  Barbara’s insight and guidance led me to realisation of the behavioral patterns that were damaging both to myself and my relationships with others.  These patterns had been transferred from my Mum to me and I was in turn projecting them onto my own daughter. Barbara not only assists in identifying problem areas but more valuably provides tools for one to use in dealing with the issues.  I list below just a few of what I call my “B” tools that I was given four years ago and still use today:
• Believe in yourself and your truth

• Trust and develop your intuition
• Let go of the need to control
• Don’t feel guilty about or obliged to, anyone
• Don’t be afraid to tell people how you feel – speak your truth

I could list many more, suffice to say that using these tools actively and consciously gave (gives) me the strength to grow in all aspects of my life. Since that first visit over four years ago, Barbara and I have developed a relationship that I value.  She is a dear friend as well as a trusted confidante. Barbara has been “in the loop” through all the changes I have experienced during these years.  What I would have seen as crises in the past, are now opportunities to grow and learn. I no longer live in fear of approval or of what is to come.  I am able to choose who I want to spend my valuable time on earth with, weeding out those who are or were damaging and destructive.  Even if it is immediate family members! Barbara speaks HER truth and usually from personal experience.  When B says “I understand” she does because she has been there.  She walks her talk which I highly respect.  I have delighted in watching Barbara grow in the years I have known her.  She constantly strives to develop, learn and experience to enable her to pass on the very best she can to her clients.  Barbara is perfectly comfortable with any age group and has worked with my 19 year old daughter, and has an appointment with my 12 year old when I next visit South Africa.TO EVERYONE WHO HAS TAKEN THE TIME TO READ THIS ….Only you can take responsibility for changing your life.
